You guys know what to do.
(Specifying which game they're for would be insanely helpful [he's less IC in some games than others *cough*] but not required, obviously.)

Time to reassess.
Does anyone continue to need help? Essential repairs, I mean.
Have people managed to get back into their own living structures? If not, what non-essential tasks need assistance?
Have all of the first-responders slept off the sleep debt and had their wounds healed? I believe we're through the worst of it, and now that that's true, we may begin to creep back to normal.
I can't promise that any of the minor concerns raised here will be addressed in any amount of time, but we must begin to consider the worst of it. Access to city streets, for example, natural water supply and ash run-off. The health of the barriers between us and the Wastes and what other protective fortifications might need reworking.
Are we going to treat this event like something that might occur again? What effect will that have on the materials we use for rebuilding? Should we focus on having a few central locations made completely of stone?
Winter is coming to an end, so scavenging will be easier soon, but is there anyone whose supplies were completely destroyed and who lacks the food and blankets to make it through? Or other supplies; furniture, soap, even books. Speaking of books, did the library survive? That place was a tinderbox.
What am I not thinking of?

[The PCD catches Break singing has he manages the dishes.]
Twelve for the twelve Apostles
Eleven for the eleven who went to heaven,
Ten for the ten commandments,
Nine for the nine bright shiners,
Eight for the April Rainers,
Seven for the seven stars in the sky,
[Up to his elbows in soap, voice pleasant, but wheezy.]
Six for the six proud walkers,
Five for the symbols at your door,
Four for the Gospel makers,
Three, three, the rivals,
Two, two, the lily-white boys,
Clothèd all in green, O and
One is one and all alone
And evermore shall be so!

[Like so many others will this week, Break wakes up screaming. The PCD isn't pointed at the bed, so it doesn't capture anything but sound until he scrambles off of it, past the camera and towards the window, throwing it open to get fresh air.
This all hits a little close to home.]
[He asks, hoarsely, a few minutes later,]
-does the network insist on displaying our grief? The timing is too consistent to be accidental.

[Break is succumbing to a moment of melancholy today, under the force of the rain and cold. He rests his forehead against the glass momentarily and heaves out a breath. It fogs the window pane.]
[He's too old, and too tired to give in to the temptation to draw a picture in it with his fingertip. Emily is forgotten on the edge of the bed, too. For a rare moment, everything is very still.]

|01:15 pm - [voice] an idle curiosity in the middle of the night|
If you could make the choice to lose one memory, what would it be?
If you don't feel like sharing the details of that moment, answer this instead- if you were really given the choice, not hypothetically in the future, but today, with all the realities and consequences you face, would you let the moment go? And would it change you?
How much of our darkest moments make us what we are?

Apologies if I seemed out of sorts!

[The device flicks on. Static.
Then, purple- only purple. White. Break's coat, the beautiful off-the-shoulder, white one that he lost almost a year ago during that episode with all of the blood. It's back in one piece.]
[Then the feed flicks off. On again, very briefly, as he bangs it on the table. Sound.
Then to video- there's Break's elbow, Emily's dress.
On. Rap rap rap. Someone's knocking it against a table to see if it can be broken open.]
-why does it keep chirping, Emily?
[This is almost exactly how he arrived, nearly two years ago to the day. And here we are, come full circle, about to smash the PCD on a table corner in idle, non-technologically oriented curiosity.]

I was wondering if people would like to do a literary swap? I've scavenged a book or two, and read them cover to cover.
I thought we might barter.

I'd like to hold a contest.
You see, we have a starfull of skies, pardon, sky full of stars, but no lore to fill it with. The constellations in my world all tell stories about heroes long fallen, about Gods and Goddesses and immortals and divinity.
I propose we make a little bit of the same for ourselves here!
The rules are simple. Find a constellation from the nighttime- be it the summer or winter sky- and remember and recount for me a 'legend' about that cluster. You can find images of the nighttime skies in old PCD video posts, if you look back.
We're talking about legend here, so any stories you tell should either be a year old at least, or should focus on events surrounding people who are no longer with us, or whose memories have been lost since the events themselves. That, or events that happened a year or so or more ago. I only want secondhand retellings. The stars are about myth, after all.
The winner will get the package of cookies I salvaged yesterday.
Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was an event in Adstringendum where the streets were patrolled by mean, crusty creatures called gnomes. These dreaded gnomes bossed, and bullied the city dwellers into living in buildings like dormitories for the better part of a week.
Weep and wail as they might, a curfew was strictly enforced, by the dreaded gnomes with their teeth and clubs. Enemy was planted abed next to other enemies, conflict started afresh, and by the end of the week the city was in such cranky, over exhausted turmoil, that the animus in their infinite wisdom flung the gnome creatures into the sky, never to be seen again.
The citizens of Adstringendum were released from their dormitory prison, and all that was left of the gnomes was a small cluster, just there- of stars. If you look close you see the outline of their little pot-bellies.

I'm setting up communal clotheslines here, for anyone whose bedding is waterlogged. Bring as much strong wire or string as you can if you can find it.
We work best when we aid one another.

Guess what I found?
What did you find?
A treasure map! A treasure map!
Treasure? My, my- what does it say.
I don't know! I can't read it.
Well, I can't read it either. How are we going to find the treasure, then?
Maybe we can ask someone to help?

In that case, since we're all here, shall we reflect on the past? Tell me about your least favourite events.

All right. We've been through this before with the angels... we can survive it again.
Is any one trapped on their own? It's time for the non-combatants to get into small groups in fortified homes, with as much food as can be carried.
Respond here and we can try to coordinate safe meeting points, and escorts.

[Xerxes Break is combing tangles out of his little doll's hair when the whirr of the PCD alerts him to the fact that it's been turned on. The doll pipes up right away, in her irritating falsetto;]
Ow ow owowowow stop pulling!
I wouldn't have to pull if you hadn't let yourself get this tangled, Miss Emily.
[The ventriloquism is perfect. She continues;]
Help! Please! If someone on the network can hear meeee-
Don't be silly, Miss Emily, you couldn't live with anyone else. None of them would have the patience to put up with your temper or the insults you like to hurl.

Belated well wishes to everyone for the various everythings-
Now that we're post explosions, shall we touch base with one another? I feel utterly out of touch. Like this year has started out of the gate like a horse with its tail on fire.
Perhaps it's all the new arrivals. Hello, little things! I hope all your questions have been answered. If they haven't perhaps I could give it a go, hm?

[Back in his very fine blue coat, and pleased as punch, Break takes a moment to spin his tophat idly before setting it on his head. Nothing like familiarity to make a nasty winter a little nicer.]
My goodness. I feel I should twirl.
[Because really, it's a very fine coat, and he's missed it. He does take a half step, letting it flare.]

I wonder how long this has to last before you all get twitchy?
[He muses, a tiny bit snide. Sun aside, Break hates the winter. He's in a bit of a mood- and lashing out at the PCD feed seems like a perfectly reasonable way to pass the time.]
